Two youths were taken into custody for interrogation after they allegedly photographed functionaries of Hindu outfits at a peace-cum-consultative meeting held by the district administration here in connection with a coming temple festival.
Police said the two persons were seen taking pictures of leaders of the Hindu outfits without taking any permission from the officials when the meeting attended by leaders of Hindu and Islamic outfits was on at the Collectorate here.
The meeting was held in connection with the "Karthigai Deepam" festival at nearby Tiruparankunram to be celebrated early next month.

The Hindu outfits had been demanding that the deepam should be lit at the Kudirai Chunai area on top of Tiruparankunram hillock as per "custom and practice", while Muslims were opposing it as a durgah was located near the place.
Officials at the meeting urged the community leaders to cooperate in the peaceful conduct of the deepam festival.
Police said they were investigating with the youths about the purpose of taking pictures of the Hindu outfit leaders.
