At least 20 workers were injured, five of them seriously, when a carrot laden lorry fell into a 30-feet gorge at Furnhill near here today.

As the lorry was taking a turn, the steering wheel got locked and the driver lost control and the vehicle fell into the gorge, police said.

Passersby rescued the injured workers. Five injured, including a woman, were sent to Government Hospital in Coimbatore, while others were treated locally, they said.
