20 injured in road mishaps on Kota-Jaipur highway

At least 20 persons including 12 women were injured today in two separate road accidents on Kota-Jaipur national highway, police said.

In the first incident, a private passenger sleeper coach bus coming to Kota from Jodhpur was hit from behind by a truck near Talabgaun on Kota-Jaipur national highway under Hindoli police station area of the district, Raju Udaiwal, ASI Hindoli said.

Three persons including a woman were injured in the accident and have been referred to Maharao Bheem Singh hospital in Kota, he said, adding that they are in critical condition.

In the second incident, a passenger bus from Didwana Roadways depot hit a parallel running bus of Beyawar Roadways depot near Kheroli turn on Jaipur-Kota highway under Talera police station area, police said.
 

After being hit, the Beyawar Roadways bus overturned on the roadside injuring at least 17 passengers including 11 women, they said.

The injured have been rushed to the community health centre in Talera.

Cases of negligent driving have been lodged against the drivers of the truck and Rajasthan Roadways bus in the first incident and against the Didwana Roadways depot bus driver, police said.

The Kota-Jaipur highway remained blocked for an hour after the accidents, they said.

Further investigation into both the cases are on, police added.
