With addition of the services to be provided by a number of departments including Revenue, Labour and Transport, the total number of services brought under Delhi Right of Citizen to Time Bound Delivery of Services Act have gone up to 116.
Currently, 96 services offered by over 20 departments are in the ambit of the Act which went into force on September 15 last year.
A time limit of 45 days has been fixed for Revenue department for mutation of land record and a period of seven days for registration of marriage under Hindu Marriage Act have been prescribed.
As per provisions of the legislation, officials are liable to pay financial penalty of Rs 10 per day up to a maximum of Rs 200 to applicants if they fail to deliver services like issuance of ration card, driving license and electricity connection within the stipulated time-frame. (more)
