20 persons from four robbers gangs arrested in Vizag

The police today arrested 20 persons belonging to various gangs and recovered 3.5 kg of silver ornaments, 680 gm of gold ornaments, Rs 3.59 lakh cash, three bikes and some other valuables.

Nine more accused were wanted, Commissioner of Police B Shivadhar Reddy said here.

Reddy said that of those arrested, D Taraka Venkatesh (27), P Lova Raju (22) and P Srinivasa Rao (23) were involved in 15 incidents of burglary under Pendurthi police station limits and a house-break under Gopalapatnam police station.

Venkatesh was also an accused in a murder case, and was arrested in 2011, but got bail.
 

In another case, an eight-member gang of robbers, including four juveniles, was arrested by Kancharapalem police who seized Rs 3.59 lakh cash and a bike from them. The four adult members of the gang were identified as N Sriram, K Shiva, P Satish and K Shiva, all natives of One-Town area in the city.

K Sanyasi Naidu, member of the same gang, is yet to be nabbed.

Another gang, comprising six persons, was also nabbed. This gang targeted the beach road area.
