20 polyclinics to be inaugurated in Delhi on February 14

Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain today said that 20 new polyclinics will be inaugurated on February 14, a day when the AAP government will be completing one year in office.

Jain said that at these polyclinics, government will provide medical test facilities - x-ray, ECG and ultrasound - and patients will not need to visit hospitals for the same.

"20 new polyclinics will be inaugurated on Sunday. By the end of this year, 150 polyclinics will be constructed. Besides,

1,000 mohalla clinics will also be built till December this year," Jain told reporters here.

He further said that the new polyclinics will be attached with the nearest government hospitals.
 

"Government hospitals' doctors will also give their services at these poly clinics on shift basis. The specialist doctors will be deployed at 20 polyclinics," the minister said.

A senior official added that the move is being taken to decongest the government hospitals.

In November last year, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had inaugurated the city's first polyclinic in Kanti Nagar in of East Delhi's Gandhi Nagar.
