Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today announced construction of a multi crore water reservoir with 20 TMC capacity under Gajwel assembly constituency.

"The proposed project will come up at Pamula Parthy village in Gajwel assembly constituency under Pranahita Chevella Project, which will cater to the needs of Siddipet, Gajwel, Dubbak, Narsapur, and the neighbouring Aler and Bhongir assembly constituencies.

It would irrigate about 1.40 lakh of acres land," Rao said while reviewing the Gajwel Area Development Authority (GADA) meeting at Yerravalli village in Medak district this evening.

"River Godavari is a boon for Telangana and we will utilise its water in scientific and appropriate manner for the development of the state. Pamulaparthy project will be more than 600 meters above the sea level and more appropriate place to construct the project," Rao said.

All the farmers and people, who would lose their lands in the project, will be compensated and rehabilitated fully. "Only after that the construction work will be taken up," he said.
