A week-long trip to the Space Application Centre of the Indian Space Research Organisation in Ahmedabad by 20 winners of Young Astronomer Talent Search 2016-17 has concluded.
Twenty school students from across Odisha were declared winners and sent to ISRO as an appreciation of their effort. The journey concluded yesterday with their return from Ahmedabad, a release said.
YATS is an initiative of Tata Steel, organised in collaboration with Pathani Samanta Planetarium, under Science and Technology Department, Odisha Government which is aimed at creating awareness about astronomy and space science among students, a Tata Steel release said.
It provides an opportunity to the students in rural and remote areas of the state to exhibit their talent and come to the forefront in the field of astronomy, it said.
