A 20-year-old girl was allegedly stabbed by a man who had been stalking her for a long time in outer Delhi's Vijay Vihar area, police said today.
The girl was going to the market along with her sister when Naveen Malik stabbed her, a senior police officer said, adding the accused had come with the intention to kill her but she thwarted his attempt and escaped.
Naveen was later arrested from the area, he said.
He was unemployed and used to stalk girls and stayed as a tenant in the victim's house around one-and-a-half-year ago, the officer said.
The victim had filed a case of stalking against the accused last year, he added.
