200 cartons of illegal liquor worth Rs 9 lakh were seized by a team of excise department in Shamli district here, police said today.
Acting on a tip-off, the officers yesterday intercepted a loaded truck at Kairana and made the seizure, they said.
"The smugglers however managed to escape," said District Excise Officer of Shamli Sudhir Kumar.
