200 cartons of liqour seized

Around 200 cartons of liquor, worth around Rs 15 lakh, were seized from a mini truck today during a joint operation by police and state Excise department sleuths, an Excise department official said.

"Acting on a tip off, a joint team of excise department and police officials nabbed a canter (mini truck) near Ford car show room under Refinery police station," District Excise Officer Chandra Shekhar said.

During a search, Haryana-manufactured English liqour in 200 cartons, was recovered.

"Rinku, resident of village Pilua Disrict Etah, has confessed that he was smuggling the liqour from Palwal for delivery in Agra," the official said.
 

According to police, the owner of the truck has also been booked in the smuggling of liqour.
