The upgraded Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium at Fatorda is all set to witness 2000 colourful performers during the opening ceremony of the Lusofonia Games 2014 on January 18.
Action packed performances and passionate cheers by the local crowd are expected at the grand opening ceremony of the Games, the most high profile international sporting event ever to be hosted by Goa.
Exhilarating folk performers and artists from Goa, and other parts of India, beside local school children will be a part of the scintillating extravaganza.

There will also be groups of artistes from all over the country, representing multiple ethnicity of the sub-continent.
There will be dance performances depicting joy, ways of life, seasons, rituals and festivals.
Multiple segments would depict various aspects of Goa, the many colours of India, the magic of its monsoons through the eyes of Goa's internationally renowned cartoonist, the late Mario Miranda.
The entire show would be a kaleidoscope of India through a spectacle of artistry, props and technology.
To ensure smooth operations of all performances, eminent personnel from the field of theater and arts would closely monitoring daily rehearsals.
Rehearsals and putting together of huge props and fabricated models for ceremonies is on in full swing and international experts are working tirelessly to set up lights and projections, to put up a breathtaking display of a wide array of programmes.
