The upcoming Lok Sabha elections will see a strong performance by Samajwadi Party backed by his government's track record in Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav said today.

"The upcoming Lok Sabha polls would belong to Samajwadi Party... Mission 2014 would be achieved on the basis of fulfilled promises and development works," Yadav said at a function here where he distributed laptops amongst students.

The CM distributed laptops amongst 8,973 students from different boards.

In his speech on the occasion, Yadav said that an industrial policy had been formulated in order to encourage industries which would help remove unemployment.

The aim of the SP government was not to benefit any particular caste or section of society but to fulfil promises made to all sections, including farmers, Yadav said.

He assured that unlike the previous Bahujan Samaj Party dispensation in the state, his government would not waste funds on statues and parks but would focus entirely on development works instead.
