204 pilgrims leave for Amarnath

A small batch of 204 pilgrims left the Jammu base camp today for the holy cave shrine of Amarnath in South Kashmir.

A convoy of six vehicles carrying the 37th batch of 204 devotees left the Yatri Niwas at Bhagwati Nagar around 4.55 am to pay obeisance at the holy shrine, police said.

The batch comprised of 115 men, 15 women and 74 sadhus. They were on their way to the twin base camps of Pahalagam and Baltal, police added.

With today's batch, a total of 50,766 pilgrims have left the Jammu base camp for Amarnath so far.

Meanwhile, three vehicles carrying 115 pilgrims left the Bagwati Nagar base camp in Jammu city for the Buddha Amarnath.
