Twenty one more persons tested positive for swine flu in the last 24 hours taking the total number of people infected with the disease across West Bengal to 427.

"There was, however, no report of any more death due to the disease," West Bengal Principal Secretary (Health and Family Welfare) Moloy Dey said.

Since January, 24 persons succumbed to death due to swine flu while 310 patients in the state were discharged after their complete recovery from the disease, he said.

Meanwhile, the condition of senior CPI(M) leader Gautam Deb, suffering from the disease, was "clinically better and stable."

"After observations Deb's overall condition was satisfactory," a statement from the private hospital where he is being treated said.
