Twentyone persons were arrested today in connection with the violence erupted after a road accident here, police said.
About 20 persons were injured when police lathicharged to disburse those involved in the violene. They demanded the arrest of a lorry driver who hit and killed a woman while crossing the road at Melapanchapur near here late last night.
Police also burst teargas shells to disperse the crowd.
The protesters also torched two lorries and two buses and pelted stones at the police injuring two sub inspectors, police said.
Among the arrested included the lorry driver, police said.
