A 21-year-old woman who had slipped into depression after failing to clear the first year B Com exam allegedly committed suicide at her residence in Kandivali in western suburbs, police said today.

Sanchita alias Naina Suresh Wagh, was found hanging by her parents at her residence at Shiv Shankar Chawl in Charkop of Kandivali this afternoon, police said.

She was taken to a hospital but was declared dead before admission, an official said.

Sanchita was depressed after failing in FY B Com exams and that could perhaps be the reason to end the life, the official said.

A case of Accidental Death Report (ADR) has been registered, said police.
