A 21-year-old college student was allegedly raped here by a man who had promised to get her a job, police said.
The victim girl in a police complaint alleged that she was seeking a job and the accused, Shamsher Singh, promised her to get one in the locality only.
Singh, a resident of the city, took the girl to a house on Tuesday with the help of an auto driver, whose identity has not yet been established, and raped her, police said.
An FIR has been registered against Singh and the auto driver under relevant sections of the IPC. Both of them are absconding. A medical examination has been conducted on the victim, they said.
