21-yr-old girl kidnapped from outside court

A 21-year-old girl was kidnapped from outside a local court, where she had gone to record her statement against two persons, police said today.

The incident took place three days ago in Civil Lines area here when Savita had gone to the court to record her statement against one Naresh and his brother, SHO Narendra Singh said.

Savita was to record her statement against the duo for kidnapping her some months ago from Firozpur village in the district, Singh said, adding, she was later found and Naresh and his brother were arrested and sent to jail in this connection.

The hearing in the case is going on and the girl had come to the court for the same, he said.
 

She was threatened of dire consequences by the accused in the past if she does not withdraw her case, the SHO said.

Savita was again threatened on the day she was kidnapped by Naresh when he was brought to the court, he said.

The police have registered a fresh case of kidnapping against Naresh and three of his accomplices for abducting the girl.
