Four men were arrested in this connection, they said.
Trader Paramjit Singh had lodged a complaint after his truck transporting betel nuts from Assam to Delhi went missing from Mathura. In a follow up of this case, Kanpur police received information that stolen sacks were being sold at Kanpur's Transport Nagar.
Following which, police raided the area yesterday and arrested truck driver's helper Titu Yadav and three buyers Rajiv Dwivedi, Anand Kumar Gupta and Sushil Gupta. Truck driver Sanjay Yadav and three others, however, managed to escape.
The recovery was duly informed to Paramjit Singh, while police are on a look out for the escaped driver and others.
