Altogether 216 persons, including
10 women, were arrested by Kohima police in connection with incidents of crime.
The arrests, made in last six months, also yielded seizure of huge quantity of contraband substances, arms and ammunition besides recovery of 30 stolen vehicles, Senior Superintendent of Police of Kohima, Joseph Hesso in a release said.

The seized 2886 kgs of contraband was worth Rs 28,86,000 while the seized 5 kg of Opium was worth Rs 1,25,000 in the market.
Seizure of various brands of Indian Made Foreign Liquor comprising of 279 cases of various categories worth about Rs 2,79,000 was also made apart from 52,000 capsules of banned Spasmo Proxyvon drugs worth Rs 5,20,000, he said in the release.
Tbe raids also led to seizures of various types of arms and ammunition, including two 7.65 mm pistols with magazine, one 9mm pistol with magazine, one Chinese made .22 pistol, six Muzzle Loading guns, two .22 Rifles with magazine, two 12 Bore Single Barrel Rifle, one 12 Bore DBBL Rifle, 24 live rounds of ammunition.
The explosive substances also included 50 Gelatin Sticks, 17 meters of Cortex fuse wire and 230 detonator caps.
