22 kgs of sandalwood seized at Hyderabad airport

Atleast 22 kilograms of sandalwood was today seized from a passenger at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) at Shamshabad here, GMR officials said.

GHIAL security staff during checking at Hold baggage screeners detected 19 packets of sandalwood weighing 22 kgs which was being carried by a passenger who was travelling by Qatar Airways to Doha at around 3 am, they said.

The passenger voluntarily agreed to be offloaded and he was subsequently handed over to the Customs Air Intelligence staff.
