A 22-year-old married woman was hacked to death on Valentine's Day by a youth who after killing her surrendered at the Modinagar police station here, an official said today.
Sachin Sharma was arrested for killing Priyanka last evening when she was returning home after purchasing medicines, Circle Officer, Modinagar, Ravi Kumar, said.
He surrendered at the police station along with the murder weapon, an axe, he said.

Priyanka got married last year. She for the past few days was staying with her parents here, the officer said.
"The victim died on the spot from an injury in the neck," Kumar said.
The woman's parents have claimed that Sharma and his friends had harassed her four days ago and they had informed the police then.
They alleged that no action was taken and their daughter was killed because of negligence on part of police officials. He was challaned and let off under a "mild" section of the CrPC, Priyanka's parents claimed.
The officer said that the parents also claimed that Sharma had threatened to kill their daughter on phone.
The Govind Puram police post in-charge Vipin Kumar Malik has been suspended for alleged negligence by the Senior Superintendent of Police H N Singh, Kumar said.
