23 medical officials suspended in J-K

The Jammu and Kashmir government today suspended nearly two dozen medical officials for alleged dereliction of their duties in Anantnag district of south Kashmir.

A team led by Additional Deputy Commissioner paid surprise visit to various health institutions and found 23 officials, including medicos, para-medicos and other staffs absent from their duties, an official spokesman said.

He said the team inspected District Hospital, Anantnag, Sub-District Hospital Bijbehara, Sub-District Hospital, Dooru, Sub-District Hospital, Kokernag, Sub-District Hospital, Seer Hamdan, Maternity and Child Hospital (MCH) Anantnag and Primary Health Centre, Mattan.
