A 23-year-old gangster was arrested for allegedly killing two persons in the national capital, police said on Wednesday.

The accused has been identified as Faizal Shah, a resident of Welcome area. He was carrying a reward of Rs 50,000 on his arrest, they said.

Police got a tip-off on Monday that Shah would come to meet his associates near the house of one Abdul Nasir. They were planning to kill Nasir over an old enmity. They got information that Nasir will visit his mother on the occasion of Bakr-Eid, said a senior police officer.

"Thereafter, a trap was laid and Shah was arrested before he could execute his plan," said Pramod Singh Kushwah, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Cell).

During interrogation, it was revealed that Shah had killed one Imran, a resident of Shashtri Park, in June, while in July, he had killed one Imran Saifi, police said, adding that a country-made pistol and five live rounds were seized from him.
