23-yr-old thrashed over altercation at eatery

A 23-year-old man was allegedly attacked with iron rods and baseball bats by four persons at an eatery in east Delhi's Mandawali area following a minor altercation, police said.

According to police, they have arrested two persons in connection with the incident last night while two others are still at large.

The victim, identified as Rahul (23), claimed that the incident took place at around 11 P.M. When he had gone for his dinner to the eating joint in the Ganesh Nagar area of east Delhi.

He claimed that he was attacked after he complained to the staff at the eatery that the food served to him was cold.
 

Rahul, who works at a grocery shop with his brother, has been admitted to a private hospital where his condition is stated to critical.

"We have received a complaint and, based on the initial investigation, arrested two people in the case. Two more, including the eatery owner, are absconding. We've got major leads and they will be arrested soon," a senior police officer said.

The two arrested accused have been identified as Parwesh and Suresh, both residents of Mandawali area. The eatery's owner, Gaurav, is on the run, police added.
