The initiation process to induct a 23-year-old woman graduate as a Jain Sadhvi began here today.
"Shilpa Jain, a B Com graduate, is getting ready to become a Sadhvi, a female saint in the Jain community and the process will start with a procession tomorrow," her father Mukesh Jain told PTI.
Preparations for his daughter to become a Sadhvi began four years ago and it was now the auspicious time, he claimed.
The 'Diksha' ceremony will be held at the Mutt in Goregaon in Mumbai on January 17 and Shilpa will leave the city on January 11, Mukesh said.
After the induction, she will adopt a new name and the induction as Sadhvi is a big ceremony among the community, he claimed.
