Odisha government today announced different scholarships for meritorious students who pursue higher studies in the field of general as well as technical or professional education.
These scholarships are granted to the students on "merit-cum-means" basis irrespective of caste, Higher Education minister Pradeep Panigrahi said.
In view of simplification of the process, the Higher Education Department has launched a new website www.Medhabruti.Org through which the students can get detailed information and make registration of their names for the purpose, the minister said.

For the general students the Jr. Merit(+2 Course), Sr. Merit(+3 course) and PG merit scholarships are available. Similarly Engineering/MBBS/BDS & students of other professional courses can also apply for availing this opportunity as per the norms.
Special girls' merit scholarship for Technical and Professional courses will also be awarded to female students, Panigrahi said adding that a total of 24, 544 students will be benefited from the scheme this year.
