"24" alum Brad Turner is all set to direct thriller "Penance" for Brightlight Pictures.
The story revolves around a mother creating a new life after spending time in prison, only to see a criminal underworld try to reclaim her, said The Hollywood Reporter.
Turner has earlier worked with Brightlight on the first season of the Fox series "Second Chance".

"Brad is an amazing talent, who brings brilliance to everything he touches," Williamson of Brightlight said.
The screenplay for the film was adapted and written by Zoe Robyn, and is based on the Norwegian movie "Eventryland".
