More than 24 tonne of rice meant for ration shops was seized from a lorry here today, officials said.
The PDS rice bags were kept along with open market rice and the seizure was made near Periyapatty by Civil Supplies department officials on the directions of District Collector V.Dakshinamurthy, they said.
The seized rice had been handed over to the food cell police for further investigation.
