While 14 bodies have been identified and dispatched by the officials from Unoti who were camping at the district headquarters at Khliehriat since August 8 the rest were also being sent, officials said.

Altogether 30 people died when a Tripura-bound overloaded bus rolled down the steep gorge in Tamseng village along the NH 44 in East Jaintia Hills district in the early hours of August 8.

While 27 persons miraculously escaped, eight of them whose condition were critical are being treated at a medical college in Silchar.

The rest, having minor injuries were discharged from the Khliehriat Community Health Centre, A Bhogotia, District administrator told PTI.

Prima facie police have not ruled out drunk driving and overspeeding as reasons behind the mishap, but Bhagotia said he was awaiting a formal report of the accident.
