A 24-year-old youth was today shot dead by unidentified persons in Kotwali area, police said here.
The deceased, identified as Daya Shanker Varshney, was shot dead when he was returning from the orchard this morning, Station Officer Arun Kumar said.
He said the motive behind the murder was not clear.
An FIR has been lodged and the matter is being investigated, the SO said.
