2430 cases of dengue reported in Karna since January

The disease has so far claimed 21 lives, including eight in Bangalore Urban District, he said.

Twentyeight percent of dengue cases have been reported from Bangalore City alone, he said, adding, a special drive would be launched from October second week to check dengue cases in the wake of alarming rise in the disease.

He was addressing a High-level Meeting of Officers of various Departments on Prevention and Control of Dengue Fever here.

He suggested to the Department of Health and Family Welfare department to enlist the support of private practitioners to diagnose dengue fever and asked it to establish Centres for Blood Test to conduct 'Mac Elisa' Examination, ward-wise or Panchayat-wise in identified high-risk areas.

 

The Principal Secretary to Government in the Department of Health and Family Welfare M. Madan Gopal asked District Health Officers to send their personnel for house to house visit to educate the people about the Aedes Larvae, causing Dengue Fever.

Instructions have been issued to take up fogging and spraying operations at all sensitive and hyper-sensitive places.
