25 lakh pilgrims at Mudia Poono fair so far, claims official

At least 25 lakh pilgrims have performed circumambulation of the Goverdhan hillock so far during the ongoing Mudia Poono fair, an official said today.

The devotees perform Goverdhan 'parikrama' to seek blessings of Lord Krishna.

"At least 25 lakh pilgrims have performed the parikrama of hillock Goverdhan so far," District Magistrate Arvind Malappa Bangari said.

He said no untoward incident has taken place but confirmed that two pilgrims died during parikrama due to cardiac arrest.

Bangari said a private company would run helicopter Parikrama service on July 8 and 9 for aged.

The service would start from temporary helipad constructed near DAV school, Goverdhan, he said.
