25 police officers transferred in Punjab

In a major re-shuffle, the Punjab government today transferred 25 police officers, including 18 of IPS cadre, in the state with immediate effect.

Besides 18 IPS, others transferred are of Punjab Police Service (PPS) cadre, an official spokesman said.

The transferred officers included those of the ranks of Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Inspector General of Police (IGP) and Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG), the spokesman said.

S K Sharma, on promotion, has been posted as DGP, Prisons, while R P Singh has been posted as ADGP/Traffic.

Jasminder Singh becomes ADGP/IT and Telecommunication, whereas C Sita Ram Reddy becomes ADGP/Training Punjab Police Academy (PPA) at Phillaur, the spokesman said.
 

Rajpal Meena has been transferred as ADGP/ Provisioning, while V K Bhawra becomes Director, Bureau of Investigation.
