A 25-year-old man was shot dead after he stepped out of his house hearing a quarrel in his neighbourhood, police said today.

The incident was reported last night from northeast Delhi's Seelampur area, they added.

The deceased was identified as Salman. His neighbour, Mukim, who was having a quarrel with the accused, also sustained a bullet injury and was admitted to a hospital.

Mukim's brother Nazim was friends with Shehzad, who was having a property dispute with one Kallu.

A few days ago, Shehzad found that Nazim was on friendly terms with Kallu. He threatened Nazim and yesterday came along with his accomplices to his house to attack him. Nazim's brother Mukim intervened while Salman also came out of his house to see what the commotion was about, the police said.

Shehzad fired shots during the quarrel. A couple of bullets hit Salman and Mukim also sustained a bullet injury. They were taken to a hospital, where Salman was declared dead while Mukim is undergoing treatment, they added.

Shehzad's brother Moinuddin also sustained minor injuries during the incident and he was hospitalised. He was nabbed while Shehzad and his associates are yet to be arrested.
