A 25-year-old married woman allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself at her house in Vijay Nagar area, even as her family members suspect it to be a case of dowry death, police said today.
The deceased, Anju was married to Mahipal two years back and was staying with her in-laws in Vijay Nagar area, where she was found hanging this morning, they said.
In a complaint filed by Anju's father Vineet Kumar, Mahipal and his parents were demanding dowry for the past several months, failing which they allegedly killed her.
Police said that the postmortem report is awaited and they are yet to ascertain the cause of death.
