26 indicted in Puerto Rico federal drug case

A federal grand jury has indicted 26 people accused of running one of the largest drug trafficking rings in western Puerto Rico.

US Attorney Rosa Emilia Rodriguez said yesterday that the suspects began operating in a public housing complex in the town of Anasco in 2010. The organisation is suspected of generating a total of some USD 10 million.

The suspects were charged with conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute heroin, crack, cocaine and marijuana.
