27 shops gutted in Pasighat market of Arunachal

At least 27 shops were reduced to ashes when a devastating fire engulfed the Pasighat market in East Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh, an official report said here today.

The fire which broke out last night also damaged eight other shops.

Four fire tenders, including one from Jonai in neighbouring Assam and another of the Indian Air Force, took several hours to douse the blaze, the report said.

The cause of the fire is being investigated.
