Some 27 kilogrammes of cocaine have been discovered in the suitcase of a French military officer as he tried to board a plane in French Guyana, the local prosecutor's office said.
The drugs were found during a customs check yesterday at Felix Eboue de Matoury airport near Cayenne, the capital of the French overseas department on the northeast coast of South Ameri.
They were discovered in the bag of a passenger who was intending to board a military plane to Paris, the Cayenne prosecutor's office told AFP today.
