28-year-old man killed in Bulandshahr

A 28-year-old man was allegedly killed by armed men at Khurja town here, police said today.

Kasim was hit with the butt of a country-made pistol after having an argument with assailants at Fatto Bawli locality yesterday over an old dispute, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Bulandshahr Akhilesh Kumar said.

Kasim passed away while being taken to the Aligarh Medical College, after which locals blocked the G T road passing through Khurja and began damaging vehicles, he said.

An FIR was lodged by Kafeel, the elder brother of the deceased, following which six persons were arrested in this connection, the SSP said.
 

Police personnel from 12 police stations have been deployed in the area to prevent any untoward incident, he added.

K Satyanarayan, Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) (Meerut) visited Khurja in the wee hours today to take stock of the situation.
