A 28-year-old man was shot dead allegedly by six men in Shamli district's Khandrawli village which comes under the jurisdiction of Kandhla police station, police said today.
The deceased was identified as Samun Ahmad.
The incident took place last night when the victim was standing outside his house, said Circle Officer Rajesh Kumar Tiwari.
The police have registered a case against the accused, he said, adding that old enmity was stated to be the reason behind the killing.
The accused were identified as Irfan, Nadeem, Kasim, Sabir, Azam and Maherdeen, Tiwari said.
Meanwhile, security has been tightened in the village, he added.
