29 people have been booked for allegedly vandalising a religious place in Sujauli area of the district.
According to the police, some anti-social elements who were part of a group returning after a Muharram procession vandalised the place of worship.
Two communities came face to face over the issue, however, senior officials intervened into the matter and brought the situation under control.
Nine persons have been named while 20 others were unidentified, police said.
