Uttar Pradesh Government today issued directions for new postings to 29 IPS officers, including former Kanpur SSP Yashaswi Yadav who was shunted out after junior doctors stir and other officers removed last month on the directives of the Election Commission.
The government has given postings to the officials, who were attached to the DGP headquarters after their transfers, with the permission of the Election Commission, a Home department spokesman here said.
Yashaswi was transferred last month on the orders of Allahabad High Court following junior doctors stir in Kanpur.
44 other senior officers -- 22 district magistrates, three DIGs and 19 superintendents of police - were also removed last month after various political parties expressed apprehensions of officials working in a partisan manner in order to assist the ruling party in the elections.
