Police arrested three for allegedly possessing 29 kgs of poppy in their vehicles on Jammu-Srinagar national highway in Udhampur district of J&K.
A truck on its way from Srinagar to Punjab was intercepted on highway at Jakhani area in Udhampur district last night and 25 kgs of poppy was recovered, they said today.
Two persons - Desh Raj and Mehraj - were arrested, they said, adding that a case has been registered against them.
In another case, police recovered 4 kgs of poppy from a truck on highway in Domail area in Udhampur district and arrested driver Hardev Singh last night, police said, adding that a case has been registered in this regard.
