A special CBI court, hearing the 2G spectrum scam case, today allowed an accuseds' plea for seeking its permission to take "coloured and enlarged photographs" of a Department of Telecom (DoT's) note, which was placed before it by CBI, for forensic examination of the signatures on it.
The court allowed the plea of private firm executive Rajiv Agarwal, facing trial in the case, saying he can take the photograph of the note which proposed issuance of letters of intent (LoIs) for spectrum licences to eligible telecom firms from four counters on January 10, 2008.
"After going through the record and hearing submissions of the parties at the bar, I am inclined to allow the application and applicant/accused is at liberty to obtain the coloured and enlarged photographs of the aforesaid page at his own expenses," Special CBI Judge O P Saini said.
Agarwal, in his application filed through advocate Vijay Aggarwal, had said he would get the signatures on the January 10, 2008 note examined by forensic expert as it was essential for the purpose of "disproving the false" case of CBI.
