Chandra moved an application seeking to go to Germany and Turkey from July 14 to 18 to attend meetings with foreign shareholders as well as with prospective investors there in Frankfurt.

Special CBI Judge O P Saini issued notice to CBI to reply on Chandra's plea and fixed the matter for hearing tomorrow.

"It is imperative that Unitech Limited is properly represented at the roadshow (meeting) on July 16 and 17," Chandra said in his plea.

He also sought exemption from personal appearance for July 16 to 18 if his plea for going abroad is allowed.

The court also allowed former Telecom Secretary Siddharth Behura's plea for exemption from personal appearance on the ground that he has to appear tomorrow before the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) for his evidence.

Meanwhile, the court also recorded the statement of prosecution witness Vinod Raina, General Manager (Accounts) of Shyam Telecom Ltd.

Raina said that till November 2009, he was working with Shyam Telelink Ltd. Sistema Shyam Tele Services Ltd was a joint venture partner of Russia's Sistema and Shyam Telelink Ltd.

The Supreme Court had on February 2 cancelled 122 2G licences granted during the tenure of former Telecom Minister A Raja, key accused in the case, declaring it as "illegal" and blamed the government's first-come-first served policy.

Out of the 122 licences, the court had scrapped 21 licences of Sistema Shyam Tele Services Ltd. (MORE)
