The second edition of annual International Research Seminar on Ayurveda (IRSA) would be held in Birstein, Germany, in September this year with an aim to establish Ayurveda as an acknowledged medical system on a global scale.
The seminar will be part of the four-day 17th International Ayurveda Symposium, being held with the objective of creating new strategies for the successful treatment of chronic diseases, which are constantly on the rise in Western Countries, foundation Director P Ram Manohar told reporters here today.
According to city-based AVP Research Foundation, one of the scientific partners of IRSA, researchers from India, Europe and other countries are expected to present their works in the field of Ayurveda medicine during the seminar.
IRSA was also aimed at establishing Ayurveda as an acknowledged medical system on a global scale and systematic research activities were intended to promote the comprehension of Ayurvedic concepts and therapies, thus encouraging its integration into modern medical practice, he said.
IRSA 2015 would bring together the Network members as well as interested scientists and medical professional who will discuss the first steps taken during the past year and initiate further activities, foundation chairman P R Krishnakumar said.
Nearly 300 delegates are expected to participate in the symposium, which will discuss the future of ayurveda research, methodology, guidelines and collaboration strategies and funding, Manohar said.
