In the first day of its drive to enforce right of pedestrians to safely cross the road from zebra crossings, Delhi Traffic Police today prosecuted nearly 3,100 motorists for traffic violation.
"On the first day of its drive to enforce right of pedestrians to safely cross the road from zebra crossings, till 7 pm today Delhi Traffic Police has prosecuted 3,100 motorists who did not stop before zebra crossing thereby infringing the right of pedestrians to cross the road," said Special Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Muktesh Chander.
Officers said that the drive will be continued vigorously in the days to come.
