3.77 lakh MT wheat purchased in Haryana

The government procurement agencies and traders have purchased 3.77 lakh metric tonnes of wheat that have arrived in the mandis till yesterday in the current season.

While stating this here today, a spokesperson of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department said the procurement process was running smoothly in the mandis.

Giving details of the wheat procured by the government agencies, he said that 47,417 metric tonnes of wheat has been procured by Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department, whereas Haryana State Co-operative Supply and Marketing Federation Limited (HAFED) purchased 98,299 metric tonnes of the crop.

He said Food Corporation of India purchased 97,463 metric tonnes of wheat and Haryana Warehousing Corporation has purchased 1.34 lakh metric tonnes.

 

The spokesman said that district Palwal was leading in wheat arrival, where 1.84 lakh metric tonnes of the crop had been procured followed by Mewat, which recorded 48,960 metric tonnes of wheat arrival.
